Departure Hall 2
Earlier: The level of service was below the requirements.
Currently:
With an Area of 990 m2, holding and a capacity of 520 Passengers/hour at a level of service B
Facilities:
The entrances and exits were redesigned and increased from 2 to 4, to make better use of the space.
The weighing counters have been modified along with lighting fixtures and signs.
The same finishing layout of the transit area, in order to maintain the design consistency in the entire airport
Large TV screens displaying entertainment and news programs and the flight schedules.
The Parking area
Earlier:
There had been no unified system for traffic movement which had led to jams especially during peak hours
Currently:
The parking system has been modified to offer a better service for greeters, tourist buses, taxis and limousines. We have also established a special parking management company UAS to operate & maintain the system available.
The area increased from 51,000m2 to 61,500m2
The parking capacity increased from 1067 cars to 2942 cars
Landscape area increased from 30,000m2 to 36,000m2
Bus Station & Facilities
We relocated the national bus station closer to the arrival and departure halls & increased its area from 1500 m2 to 5600 m2. A sheltered area was constructed for the convenience of the service users.
In addition to constructing a new facilities’ building, aimed to provide service outlets to the passengers including: ticketing, police station, banks and various luggage services.
Terminal building 2 (TB2)
Domestic Flights Hall
Earlier:
There had been no unified system for traffic movement which had led to jams especially during peak hour
Currently:
Complete refurnishing & development of the entire hall’s infrastructure.
1310 m2 were assigned for the domestic flight hall in TB2 and it is supported by a separate waiting area.
New counters and 3 departure gates & 4 double loaded weighing counters with an overall area of 370 m2, with a capacity of 820 passengers / hour at a level B service.
Facilities:
Large TV screens displaying entertainment & news programs and the flight schedules.
Fully Equipped cafeteria.
Air ticket booking counter.
Passenger services counter.
Information services counter.
Rest-rooms and facilities for passengers with special needs.
